Helping Create Australia's Most Circular Valley
Supporting the Development of the Bega Circular Valley Program
July 2024 onwards
Bega Circular Valley (BCV) is an ambitious, long-term program developed and led by the Regional Circularity Co-operative (RCC) that seeks to make the Bega Valley the most circular regional economy in Australia.
In helping create Australia’s most circular valley, the BCV Program will ultimately stand as ‘a transition lighthouse’; clearly demonstrating how shifting a region’s economy from a linear model to a more circular one can have long-term economic, environmental and social benefits for the Bega Valley region, thus inspiring and supporting other similar regions in Australia and around the world to pursue their own ambitious circularity journeys.
Since the program’s inception, much early foundational work has been completed. This includes the founding of the RCC as a key vehicle for systemic change, successful establishment of a broad range of partnerships and collaborations with local, national and international organisations and institutions, development of a multi-year program roadmap, selection and initiation of some pilot initiatives and projects, broad and deep engagement with a large number of stakeholders, organisations and individuals connected to, or interested in, the BCV program, and the planning, funding and early stage development of the National Circularity Centre (NCC).
2iis Consulting was engaged in mid-2024 to provide structured support to the RCC and BCV Program, working on a number of key areas that together will look to build on and accelerate the foundational work already completed.
